Make one!
I have these little gifts for my friends,
even though we aren't exchanging this year
(the economy has hit so hard we aren't exchanging!
Gasp!What!!
But it's Christmas!!)
I bought these months ago before we agreed no presents,so they are getting them anyway.
These beautiful little spiders are made by my friend Cassandra.
Cassandra has Chiari and had surgery this past year to fix her head..
In case you are wondering what Chiari is check out THIS link
The story of the Christmas Spider goes like this...
A long time ago in Germany, a mother was busily cleaning
for Christmas.
The spiders fled upstairs to the attic, to escape the
broom.
When the house became quiet the spiders slowly crept downstairs for a peek. Oh what a beautiful tree!
In their excitement they scurried up the trunk and out along each branch.
They were filled with happiness as they climbed amongst the glittering beauty.
But alas! By the time they were through climbing, the tree was completely shrouded in their dusty grey spider web.
When Santa Claus came with the gifts for the children, and saw the tree covered with spider webs, he smiled as he saw how happy the spiders were, but knew how heartbroken the mother would be if she saw the tree covered with the dusty webs. So he turned the webs to silver and gold.
The tree sparkled and shimmered and was even more beautiful than before!
That's why we have tinsel on our tree, and every tree should have a Christmas Spider in its branches.
Here are the boxes I made to hold them, and how convenient..it fits this weeks challenge on CC.
From by belle:
On your project (LO, card, altered item, home decor, etc) combine
ribbon with an embellishment like a brad, buckle, charm, sticker, bling,
etc. Feel free to get wild! :)
I used Authentiques~Festive Collection
After a little trial and error I got them to work...
Leave me a comment here or on my post on facebook and I will pick one lucky person to win a spider of their own.

ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Those spiders are neat...I wonder if the legs are the only solid bead part or if it is all beading. Either way, very pretty! Love the boxes, too. Can't tell if that's the lovely celery ribbon or just the buckle, but it goes so well with the box! =D
